RULES
& REGULATIONS
HRS Services are based on a set of Rules and Regulations
which cover the construction, maintenance and certification of a variety
of structures and installations.
These Rules
are continuously amended through Research Projects in order to incorporate
the newest technological achivements and to be in alignment with the
corresponding International requirements.
After an appropriate agreement with IACS, all IACS Unified
Requirements are incorporated into HRS "Rules and Regulations for
the Classification and Construction of Steel Ships". The equivalency
of HRS Rules with those of the IACS Members is continuously monitored
by the European Commission in the context of Article 15(1) of the 94/57/EC
Directive, as amended. For this purpose biannual regular meeting are
also held between HRS and IACS Secretariat.
